How long is the course and what do I need?

The course runs for four (4) hours from 9am to 1pm on a Saturday. No experience with drones is needed and you do not need to own or bring a drone to do the course.

All course participants are provided with access to Drone-wise's quadcopter aircraft for flying. We use a fleet of state-of-the-art DJI quadcopters including the Phantom 4, Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Mini.

Our trainers are commercially-rated drone pilots with considerable experience across a range of flying operations and aircraft types. As pilots, our trainers work under Morrison Aerial Robotics in Sydney which holds the Operators Certificate required by law when engaged in commercial work.

Each course will be delivered by two trainers, providing more individualised attention and broad knowledge to assist participants in gaining the knowledge and skills they need to fly safely. Class size is limited to twelve.

At present, Martin and Tim are conducting the training in Sydney and Canberra.

The 'theory' part of the course will go ahead despite any prevailing weather conditions. If the flying component needs to be cancelled, an alternative date and time for this will be organised. We will be flexible so we can provide the flying time to everyone.
