If you wish to use a drone for commercial purposes or to assist you in your job, and you intend to fly aircraft less than 2kg in weight in standard operating conditions, you need to be accredited but not licensed. Our training aims to provide the theoretical knowledge you need as well as the flying skills and safety management approaches to accomplish your missions.

This part of the training covers:

  • legal requirements & rules
  • risk identification & mitigation
  • understanding aircraft/hardware
  • airspace familiarisation & management
  • understanding weather conditions
  • flying planning, preparation & execution
  • safety management and organisational flying culture.

This hands-on part of the training covers:

  • basic flying & aircraft control skills
  • pre & post flights checks
  • photographic & video techniques
  • emergency responses & handover/takeover procedures
  • actual mission flights customised to your requirements
  • data review and storage
  • essential recordkeeping and accountability

The course is 1 to 2 days depending on your specific requirements. About half of this time is spent conducting in-the-field flying operations. We are based in the ACT and NSW, delivering training in Sydney, Canberra and all NSW and Victorian regional areas.

Resources Provided

We work with you beforehand to design a course which is highly customised to your needs. If you are wanting to prepare participants for CASA accreditation then we recommend a maximum of 4 - 6 people. Larger class sizes can work but require additional preparation and resources. Overall cost to you is determined by your requirements, class size and course length. Contact us for a quote.

Resources Provided

We provide training resources and targeted learning materials. We also provide a fleet of drones for participants to use which gives them a broad experience of different aircraft capabilities. There are at least two instructors ( Martin and Tim ) who present the course and supervise the flying operations. A certificate of attendance is provided to each participant on completion.
